THE NEST by Franz Xaver Kroetz
42 Waterloo Street
Performances: Thu-Sun, August 4-21, 2022
Like all expecting parents, Kurt and Martha want the best for their baby. But they are working class and a baby is costly. What happens when an innocent side job spirals out of control? THE NEST is a stark, modern drama from one of Germany’s most important playwrights. Blending Kroetz’s distinct dialogue with the German Volkstück (folk play) tradition, THE NEST is a haunting meditation on materialism, obedience, and ecological devastation.
